ive decided to do a bunch of make ahead type dinners and freeze them
need ideas for ground meat recipes that are cheapGround beef/chicken/turkey recipes?!?
First I will assume that you are meaning that you will prep everything and then freeze it to actually cook later?
Most Italian pasta dishes are super easy to freeze and you can make them with ground beef/turkey or shredded chicken. When you boil the pasta, cook it a little less than done because the process of cooking it will finish cooking it.
With things like macaroni and cheese, the same applies, cook the macaroni noodles just before they are done because reheating it will cook them more. Mushy noodles can be nasty.
Chicken and dumplings are great and super easy. I usually buy the pre-made frozen ones and cook up some chicken and throw it all in the crock pot for the day. Delish!
Chili and spaghetti are easy as well.
Shredded chicken, taco seasoning, and 2 cans of tomato sauce in the slow cooker make a great taco filling that freezes and reheats awesome!
Hope that gives you some ideas!Ground beef/chicken/turkey recipes?!?

This is really great because you can make a bunch of them and they keep for days in the fridge. Also, because you only you use a spoonful or so for each roll, you get a lot for a little.
LUMPIA (or eggrolls, if you wanna go there, lol)
-ground beef (chicken and turkey will probably substitute just as well, though I've never tried them)
-potatoes
-carrots
-an onion
-red or green bellpeppers
-any other veggies you might like (this dish is pretty open to experimentation)
-egg roll/ spring roll/ lumpia wrappers (can be found in any Asian grocery store)
*All you have to do is cook the beef with a little salt and maybe some simple seasoning to taste, if you like (I use garlic powder and black pepper- though not a lot if you're going to add bellpeppers later on). Set aside.
*Finely dice the potatoes, carrots, onion, and bellpeppers, and cook in a large wok/skillet without oil or water, turning constantly until veggies are tender. Mix with the meat.
*Separate the egg roll wraps accordingly, then spoon about a spoonful-two spoonfuls of the filling along one corner, fold the adjacent ones over, and roll. (There should be directions with pictures on the back of the wrap package to make this easier to follow, lol.) HINT: dab a little warm water on the opposite corner to make it stick and stay closed.
*Deep fry in canola/vegetable (or any other similar cooking) oil until golden brown. Drain excess oil with paper towels, serve hot! Goes good with soy sauce or spring sauce. And rice, if you like rice.
It's a little timely with all the prep (dicing those veggies by hand is a chore -_-), but easy enough to follow. The amount of each ingredient can vary according to taste in relation to one another- more meat if you like meat, more veggies if that's the way you swing. Don't fry them all at once, but store extra rolls covered in the fridge (like I said, it'll keep for quite a while... unless people eat them), and fry only as much as you'll need for that meal.
Hope that works for you. :)
Look up a recipe for Shepperd's Pie. It's a cheap casserole type dish and its quite comforting, tasty and easy to make. I'm sure there are several variations out there but find one that sounds good to you.
One I like is a southwest tasting one...brown ground beef, cook with burrito seasoning (but only adding 1/2 the water it says). Layer in a casserole dish and top with mashed potatoes and some pepper jack cheese. Bake.
We call this one Turkey Chili. It's so simple. Brown about a pound of ground turkey, add chopped onion if you like, chili powder to taste and drain. Now just add one can of chili beans, one can of Rotel tomatoes and about a cup and a half of cooked rice. Stir until everything is heated and melt a little shredded cheese on top. You can double everything to make more if needed. Takes less than 30 mins.
Tonight I made a recipe that I actually got off here also, it was pretty good and if you have kids mine loved it.
HAMBURGER HASH
lb ground beef
1 green bell pepper
1 onion
2 stalks celery
3 or 4 potatoes
minced garlic(if you have it)
dice the celery, pepper, onion, and garlic and saute them in olive oil or butter until soft, then add the diced potatoes and cover stirring every so often. In a seperate pan fry ground meat. When the potatoes are soft add the meat and stir. Top with kechup if you like it.
This is one of my favorite ground beef recipes . Its is very easy to . You will need a pound of ground beef .One dozen eggs . Two cups of pasta sauce, salt and pepper.
First you boil the eggs in tell they are cooked.
Second you put the beef in a bowl and u add the salt and pepper, press it in tell the salt and pepper is spread evenly.
Third take a half a hand full of beef and roll it around one peeled boiled egg, do that to all 12 eggs
Fourth add the meat balls in a greased baking dish .
Fifth pour the sauce over each meat ball .
Last bake in the oven ,oven preheated to 400 degrees in tell the beef is cooked and is dark brown ,about 45 minutes
.
Hope you like it as much as i do
