any white sauce or cheese sauce is easily accomplished with a Rue or a Roux if you are French.

1 Stick of butter

2 Tbsp of Flour

1/2 Onion Diced

2 Tbsp of Garlic Diced

2 C Milk or Cream, I would use Cream for Alfredo

1-2 C Parmesan Cheese or any cheese will do

Melt butter, add onion and garlic until softened. About 2-3 Minutes.

Add Flour and stir it in until it makes like a ball. Let that cook for 3-4 Minutes to get the flour taste out.

Add Milk or Cream and start whisking flour and cream together until it starts boiling. Keep STIRRING or it may burn.

Once it is the consistency that you want, then remove from heat and add your cheese. Let the cheese melt and then serve over cooked pasta! Viola!
