I have never tried this particular version, but have made fried chicken with buttermilk. You can use the sour cream, but add some milk and mix to make it creamy and stick to the chicken.

Edit: since you are soaking the chicken overnight, use your sour cream with a little milk mixed in, then when you are ready to bread, use the lemon juice in milk substitute for buttermilk. That will work fine. Can i use sour cream in this throwdown fried chicken recipe? and has anyone tried this recipe?
Unfortunately, sour cream will not penetrate through the chicken %26amp; act as a marinade...you may also encounter an issue with curdling.

You prpbably will have to take a trip to the store for this one, but the recipe looks well worth it!
Thin out some sour cream w/ regular milk, whisking together until the consistency of buttermilk. This will do better for the fried chicken than the homemade variety of b'milk.
try to use cream cheese
